Oh I Member...
Christmas is a magical time of year - with family, festivities, food and gift giving. Handmade gifts are always extra special, so I decided to make some fresh produce for the boys at Rigters Supermarkets - Member Berries!
Member Berry Christmas Ornaments to be more precise. For this project, I decided to use my MAD Clay (Model Air Drying clay) made by Blackwattle Pottery here in Australia. A beautifully smooth white clay that is available in 1, 2 and 5kg bags, which are very reasonably priced.
I built the clay around some existing baubles for added strength, but it did cause some cracking which was corrected. The bauble structure also making them ready to hang. This came in very handy when drying, priming and painting my Member Berries. Here they are drying happily in the sun!
If you have not heard of Member Berries, they are a South Park creation from the amazing minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone. I started watching South Park back in high school, and it's still one of my favourite shows. The whole time I was making these, under the pressure of deadlines, cooking and gift wrapping - I could hear their little voices;
Member when Christmas was fun?
