Geraldton Roller Derby League Rebrand

I was approached by the Geraldton Roller Derby League with the fun project of updating their logo. The new design was to to use their official name and lose the ribbon element that increased the production cost of embroidered patches. Imagery was to be relevant to their Geraldton home base, and training ground along the foreshore.  It needed to be fun, professional and packed with attitude.

GRDL is a force to reckoned with and feared by the competition. This is symbolised in the new logo through the awesome power of a stormy sea and the mythical kraken. The strong tentacles have been striped to represent the Geraldton lighthouse and feature derby skate wheels in place of suction cups. The red, white and black league colours were to be retained for recognition, as requested by my client. Both a clean and grungy variations were supplied.
