Bring on 2018 and the Pantone Colour of the Year!

Better Late Than Never

Happy New Year everybody! I know I'm a bit late - but better late than never as they say. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration. I had a fun arvo at Cutler & Smith with my charming besties, delicious food, buttercream (we effing love it) and fabulous drinks. Now I'm all excited and ready for the year ahead - bring on 2018!

Time Off? What's That?

I spent my time off over Christmas working hard on my website, staying up til the early hours of the morning. After discovering the awesome free Foo Gallery Plugin for wordpress, I overhauled and updated my artworks, photography and graphic design folio pages. I also finally got around to animating my Hard Pressed print and created a custom Bog Monster Ambience Sound Track to go with it - check it out on my Home Page!

My New Years Resolution

2017 was a busy and fun year indeed! I participated in several large art projects, worked on a huge amount of design jobs for awesome clients, and lectured Intermediate Photography at TAFE.

It's difficult to predict exactly what 2018 will bring for me as a Freelancer, though so far I have been having a blast sculpting in polymer clay. I have set myself one main goal to focus on this year. That is: To exhibit my work in places  where it has not been before. To participate in exhibitions and prizes located in different towns, cities, states or countries!

2018 Goals

  • Send my work out further into the world!
  • Continue to run my Bog Monster Breeding & Adoption Program
  • Add at least one Cephalotus to my carnivorous plant collection
  • Do something about the abysmal lighting and pastel yellow ceiling in my studio
  • Get into my old jeans...

Know of an upcoming exhibition, prize or project you think I might be interested in? Why not flick me an email and say hello!

The 2018 Pantone Colour of the Year

Every year, designers worldwide hold their breath and wait to hear the official announcement...say hello to the 2018 Colour of the Year: Pantone 18-3838 Ultra Violet!

A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.
- Pantone Color Institute

Inspired by the mysteries of the cosmos and the intrigue of what lies ahead - perfect for a brand new year full of promise and adventure. This celestial shade is Bog Monster approved! You'll no doubt spot Ultra Violet as it begins to pop up in decor, design, fashion and more. This gorgeous shade of purple is remarkable similar to the paint swatch I just happened to grab in Bunnings the other day - perhaps it's a sign! Read more about the concept behind this alluring colour on the official Pantone website.
